Prom and Graduation Make This Season Dangerous for Texas Drivers

Auto Accidents | Teen Driving

Unless you have a high-schooler yourself, you are probably oblivious to the increased dangers of weekend driving this time of year.

However, heading into the last few weeks of the high school semester, the web is awash in teen crash statistics, warnings of Zero Tolerance policies, and all the conversations parents should be having with their teens as they head out the door for prom and graduation night celebrations.

Flood Insurance in Texas: An Overview

Flood Insurance | Homeowner Insurance Claims | Insurance Claims

One of the most affordable insurance policies a Texan can buy? Flood Insurance.

One of the least-purchased insurance policies in Texas? Also Flood Insurance.

One of the top reasons why Texas homeowners file insurance claims? Flooding.

Reportedly, 71% of Texas residences identified as being located in high-risk flood zones do not have coverage for flood waters.

There are a number of contributing factors to that – perception that flood risk is low, that it’s not required to by law, (mistakenly) believing it’s covered by another policy, bad faith claims leaving folks feeling like a policy isn’t going to pay out anyway. The fact remains, however, that your home is probably your biggest asset… and the policies you own — very [...]

First Party Bad Faith vs. Third Party Bad Faith in Texas

Bad Faith Insurance

That’s the deal. The agreement. The very minimum that they should do.

When that doesn’t happen and it appears they’re acting in dishonest and deceptive ways, your insurer is considered to be acting in bad faith. This means that you have grounds to file claim against them in civil court in an attempt to recover compensation.

Before you do that, though, it’s important to understand which kind of bad faith claim you’re going to [...]

Suspect Nursing Home Abuse? What Texans Can Do

Nursing Home Abuse

Entrusting a long-term care facility with the care of your loved one is a difficult thing to do. Nursing homes are charged with treating the elderly and disabled with dignity and respect.

Last fall, however, a San Antonio nursing home seemingly breached that obligation in a truly egregious way, and that story is sadly just one of many. The Texas family involved in that story says they intend to fight back. If you feel your loved one is suffering nursing home abuse or negligence, you can too.

How exactly?

There are three primary actions to take in order to initiate immediate change:

  • One, document the situation.
  • Two, report the abuse
  • Three, contact an attorney specializing in this area of
